Ad Spend & Allocation
Ad spend is one of the biggest hidden profit leaks — and one Shopify doesn't subtract for you. Telling Profixo what you spend on ads lets it flag campaigns and products that are losing money after acquisition costs.
Entering your ad spend
In Settings, enter your monthly ad spend per channel:
- Meta (Facebook / Instagram)
- TikTok
- Other
You can fill in only the channels you use. Leave the rest at zero.
How spend is allocated
Ad spend has to be attributed to products before Profixo can judge profitability. Choose an allocation method that matches how you think about your marketing:
- Even across revenue — spend is spread in proportion to each product's share of revenue. A good default for most stores.
- Weighted — concentrate spend on the products you actually advertise.
Allocation is an estimate
Unless you have per-product ad attribution, allocation is a reasonable estimate, not a perfect one. Profixo reflects this in the confidence score of ad-related alerts.
What ad-waste alerts look for
Profixo raises an ad-waste alert when a product or campaign runs below a profitable return — for example when ROAS falls under ~1.5 or ad spend exceeds the revenue it generates. See Types of Profit Leaks.
Keeping spend current
Update your ad spend whenever your budgets change meaningfully. Stale ad figures are the most common reason ad-waste alerts drift from reality.
